AlkestoreTerms of use
In short: Alkestore connects buyers and sellers; the sale happens directly between them. Post honest and legal ads, respect others, and be wary of advance payments.
The French version of these terms prevails in case of difference.
1. The service
Alkestore is a free platform for local classified ads and services in Guinea, published by Alkestore, Conakry, République de Guinée. It is available through the Android and iOS app, its web version and the alkestore.tech website. By creating an account, you accept these terms and the privacy policy.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 16 years old. To sell, you must be an adult or have your parents’ consent.
- Give accurate information and keep your password secret. You are responsible for what is done with your account.
- One account per person, unless the team agrees otherwise. The Alkestore team will never ask for your password or a code received by text message.
3. Posting an ad
- The ad must honestly describe a real item or service that you have the right to sell, with a real price and your own photos (or photos you have the right to use).
- One ad per item: no duplicates and no reposting to climb back up the list.
- Mark the ad as “sold” or remove it when the item is no longer available.
- You remain the owner of your texts and photos. You allow Alkestore to display, resize and show them in the app, on the website and in its communications, as long as the ad is online.
4. What is forbidden
You may not offer:
- weapons, ammunition, explosives, drugs, and medicines without authorisation;
- stolen, counterfeit or smuggled goods, official documents (ID cards, licences, diplomas);
- protected animals, ivory or endangered species;
- adult content, sexual services;
- “miracle” investments, lotteries, money chains, unauthorised loans;
- anything prohibited by Guinean law.
It is also forbidden to scam, harass, insult or threaten, post hateful content, send bulk advertising messages, impersonate someone, publish other people’s personal data without their consent, or disrupt Alkestore (bots, hacking, getting around limits).
5. Buying and selling
The sale is concluded directly between the buyer and the seller. Alkestore is neither seller, buyer nor payment intermediary, and does not guarantee the quality, conformity or delivery of goods and services. Our advice:
- see the item before paying, in a public place and in daylight;
- never pay in advance (mobile money, transfer) someone you don’t know;
- for a vehicle or a home, check the papers and the owner’s identity;
- report any suspicious ad or person from the app.
6. Chat and reviews
The chat is for discussing an ad. Reviews must be about a real transaction and remain respectful. A reported message or review may be examined by the team.
7. Moderation and sanctions
The Alkestore team may remove an ad, message or review that breaks these terms and, depending on how serious it is: warn you, suspend your account for a limited time, or close it. Except in emergencies (ongoing scam, danger), we notify you in the app and you can give your side. You can challenge a decision by writing to contact@alkestore.tech.
8. Free service and options
Creating an account, posting and contacting a seller are free. Paid options (such as promoting an ad) may be offered later: their price and conditions will be clearly shown before any purchase.
9. Availability and liability
We do our best to keep Alkestore working well and continuously, but interruptions (maintenance, outage, network) may happen. Alkestore is not responsible for the ads posted by users nor for transactions between them, unless we are at fault. Nothing in these terms limits the rights the law guarantees you.
10. Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time: see how. Your ads and messages are then erased.
11. Changes
We may change these terms. The new version is published on this page with its date; in case of a significant change, we notify you in the app at least 15 days in advance.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by Guinean law. In case of disagreement, please first write to contact@alkestore.tech so we can find an amicable solution; failing that, the courts of Conakry have jurisdiction.
